About SK Scaffold
SK Scaffold is a New Zealand scaffolding company offering scaffold hire, erection, transport and dismantle, weekly safety inspections, and scaffolding equipment sales. We work with builders, painters, roofers, plasterers, plumbers and homeowners on residential, light commercial and shrink-wrap projects.

Areas we cover
Scaffold hire, erection and dismantle: Auckland and Northland — as far north as Waipu and Whangarei, as far south as Pukekohe. We don't typically travel outside this region for hire work.
Scaffolding equipment sales: the whole of the North Island. We deliver scaffolding gear (tube and clip, ring lock, mobile towers, accessories) anywhere in the North Island.
Credentials, memberships and insurance
SANZ member (Scaffolding Association of New Zealand). Site Safe member. SiteWise prequalified. Totika approved. Public liability insurance: $5 million (Certificate of Currency available on request). All scaffold erected to AS/NZS 1576 and WorkSafe NZ Good Practice Guidelines. Our team holds Certificate of Competence qualifications, including Advanced Scaffolder tickets.
Scaffold systems we use
Tube and clip scaffold. Ring lock system scaffold. Mobile towers. Edge protection and roof access where required. Shrink-wrap scaffold (with engineering sign-off — see below).
Pricing
We charge two components for most scaffold jobs:
1. Erect, transport and dismantle: $18 per square metre of scaffold face (one-off), invoiced on 7-day terms.
2. Hire: $1 per square metre per week (ongoing while on site), invoiced on the 20th of the month following, with weekly progress invoices where applicable.
Worked example — a 60 m² scaffold for 4 weeks: Erect/transport/dismantle 60 × $18 = $1,080. Hire 60 × $1 × 4 = $240. Indicative total: $1,320 + GST.
Other charges: Weekly safety checks $75 per check (during the hire). Shrink-wrap jobs: engineering sign-off required at $2,000 (in addition to scaffold). Fix-ups, adjustments or repairs: charged separately on a time-and-materials basis.
All prices on our website and chatbot are indicative only. The firm quote is always issued by SK Scaffold after reviewing your plans or site.
What areas do you service?
For erect, transport and dismantle: Auckland and Northland (Waipu/Whangarei in the north to Pukekohe in the south). For equipment sales: whole of the North Island.
How quickly can you get scaffold up?
Typical lead time is around 7 days from a confirmed booking. Urgent jobs — call us on 021 071 5275 and we'll see what we can do.
Do you handle council consents or public-access paperwork?
Council consents (e.g. for scaffold over a public footpath) are the customer's responsibility, but we're happy to help facilitate the process.
Does my job need engineering sign-off?
Only shrink-wrap jobs require engineering sign-off. There's no general height threshold that triggers sign-off for standard scaffold.
Is the scaffold compliant with NZ standards?
Yes. All scaffold is erected by qualified scaffolders to AS/NZS 1576 and WorkSafe NZ Good Practice Guidelines, with a tagged handover.
What's the minimum hire period?
1 week minimum hire.
Do you have insurance?
Yes — $5 million public liability cover. Certificate of Currency available on request.
Can I extend the hire?
Yes. Hire continues at $1/m²/week until you call us to dismantle. We invoice on the 20th of the month following.
Do you provide edge protection, roof scaffolding, mobile towers, shrink-wrap?
Yes — tube and clip, ring lock system scaffolding, mobile towers, edge protection, and shrink-wrap (with engineering sign-off at $2,000).
What if my building plans change mid-job?
No problem — call us and we'll re-quote. Variations are charged at the same $18/m² rate for additional scaffold.
Payment terms?
Erect, transport and dismantle: 7-day terms. Hire: invoiced 20th of the month following, with weekly progress invoices where applicable.
Do you sell scaffolding gear and equipment?
Yes — we sell scaffolding equipment (tube and clip, ring lock system, mobile towers, accessories) throughout the North Island. Contact us for a price list or specific items.
